Playing in the Leaves

Michael raked up a few piles of leaves in the backyard. They are bit wet and gunky, but that did NOT stop Charlotte from jumping in.

She was particularly fond of picking up the leaves from the smaller pile and carrying them to the larger pile. Who needs a rake?!

And of course there was the joy of just diving right in with all your might.

Sarah in the Leaves Too!

Charlotte's not the only to have her fun falling and tossing leaves. Sarah was in baby heaven with all the crinkly crunchy leaves underfoot, or in her case under bum.

Learning to Swim

Charlotte has been taking a swimming class for the last few weeks. She completed the first one and got a little certificate to move on. She'll start another four-week class again next week.

Here she's practicing kicking her feet and paddling her arms with the help of her teacher.

Here she's doing a "seal walk" across bottom of the pool - walking on her hands.

And Sarah was our ever-faithful observer. It's so warm in the indoor pool area that she generally fell right to sleep in the stroller.

They play together!!

Sarah and Charlotte are doing a great job of playing together nicely lately. I can even leave the room (for a minute) and not worry that someone is going to end up in tears. Today they played together for over an hour while I hung out nearby (and only intervened a time or two).

Forgive the wetspot on Sarah's pants. She spilled her water and I didn't notice till after I'd grabbed the camera.

Sarah really wants to climb the stairs all the time. The gate foils her attempts. She will stand and yell at the gate. Often.

There was a lot of wrestling going on today. Charlotte demonstrates a LOT of patience despite Sarah grabbing fistfuls of her hair. She has significantly more patience than me, that's for sure.

One of the girls favorite things to do is to play on the Winnie the Pooh riding toy. Sarah walks behind Charlotte who sometimes tends to go too fast and then I have to make them slow down!

Then Sarah turned the tables and she did the riding while Charlotte followed (pushed) from behind. They circle round and round the island for a long time.

Fun with Fluffy

Last time we visited with Cliff and Terri, Charlotte was scared of Fluffy, their chocolate lab mix. I think it's safe to say that she is over that particular fear.

The Bengals have at least one fan

Thanks to Grandpa Tom for the new Bengals shirt. Sarah's first!

Charlotte was adamantly against wearing hers. Sorry....

Sarah feeds herself. (Almost.)

Sarah got a hold of her spoon and tried to feed herself (some delicious carrots and peas).
"Wait! Are they all gone?!!"
She made quite a mess of herself in the process.

Bean Bag Fun!

Sarah had a great time playing with some bean bags this evening. (Video is about 2 minutes.) Throwing things down is a lot of fun for a 10-month-old.

Pumpkin Farm

We made plans to visit a Pumpkin Farm today. It was a little warm at 70-something degrees! Which just isn't right for hayrides in October! The girls seemed to enjoy themselves.

When Michael was telling Charlotte that we were going to a Pumpkin Farm and that there would be pumpkins and corn, she asked if we'd also see carrots and other vegetables too. :)

A new toy!

Sarah got a new ride-on toy. In theory, it's a gift for her first birthday, but well she got it early. Also, I love her little prison-stripe outfit.

Check out the video of her figuring out the riding toy!

My Little Grasshopper

Charlotte is crazy about her Yoga Kids DVD. She watches it every day and she practices her Yoga poses often throughout the day. The other day she did them on the floor in the pediatrician's office. Yoga for her is anytime, anywhere.

Warm Jammies

These are some seriously stylish pajamas!
