Why scissors are always placed well out of reach

Overheard from the playroom:
"Oh Sarah, look at your hair. It's beautiful. I cut your hair, Sarah. Look how pretty!"

I go zipping in there. She just had the yellow kid plastic scissors. No actual hairs were harmed.



Then there was just some good old sisterly loving after it was all said and done.
You can see Sarah got hold of the scissors by then.

Horses!!

Charlotte's teacher had her class out out to her house today to ride the horses! What a good time we had!



Charlotte absolutely loved feeding carrots to the horses. Loved it! Her giggles are infectious.

Sarah had a great time too. First she was pretty shy and wouldn't get down, but eventually she warmed up. Except for the dogs. She was terrified of the dogs. Terrified.


Charlotte was really hung up on the carrots. She carried them everywhere. Put them in her pocket too.

Sarah liked hanging out on the fence.


Charlotte seemed to really enjoy the horse. He was big! She's ridden horses before, but nothing ever this big before.


She waved to us from across the pen.


Little daredevil - took her hands off! Thought she was cool!

You can see how big this horse is... it comes up to Michael's shoulders.

Dreaming of Elmo

Michael just went to bed and checked on Charlotte. He called me up to take a look. She's been in bed awhile and is still holding on to her balloon.

Sesame Street!

We went to Sesame Street Live today. It was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the show.

Here we are standing outside the big Arena.


Daddy wore his Elmo shirt. He was the only Dad we saw wearing one.


Once inside at our seats.


We hadn't intended to buy a program ($7 - yowch) but Charlotte kept taking the one from the people behind us, so we got her her own. She really enjoyed flipping through it.

Charlotte started out on my lap, really mesmerized by the show.



Bert came out to kick things off and tell us the Letter and Number of the day.


Charlotte's famous for squeezing her eyes shut when she's a little over-stimmed or maybe over-excited by something. That didn't last long though.

Sarah enjoyed the entire show! (Except the 10 minutes she fell asleep.)

It wasn't long before our favorite furry red guy made an appearance. Our two girls were definitely thrilled.



Charlotte clapped along and got up and danced during the Alphabet Song (of course!).

After the show: Two contented girls, one giant Elmo balloon. Well, make that two. If one gets one, the other gets it too.

Snow White Goes To School

I didn't get to go the parade and take pictures, but I did get these in the morning.

Charlotte

This week has been wacky week at school, with the kids supposed to wear something a little different each day. Monday was crazy hat day. We didn't really have any crazy hats, so she just wore a cute hat.

Tuesday was mismatch day. As you can see - definitely not matching!! Today was team sports day ... we didn't have a shirt and I forgot to buy one. Oh well. Tomorrow is costume day. Look for pictures!!



Charlotte picked out this headband at the store. She looks so pretty with her hair being pushed all the way back like that. I love it. I think she likes the headband because it feels tight on her head.

Random

This is not how we let our kids sit at the table...


Have you heard of the Neti Pot? Michael uses it to clean out his sinuses, helps him get over a sinus infection quicker and good for prevention too. Charlotte says, "I'm going to go do my Neti Pot now..." So of course I grabbed my camera.


Charlotte has been really interested in painted toenails lately. She will touch the toes of complete strangers if their toes are polished. Today I asked her if she wanted me to paint her toenails and she enthusiastically responded, Yes!! I asked what color and she was quick to say Red. She stuck with the red choice too. I thought pink might be nicer (more little girlish), but she wanted the red.

She was FASCINATED by her painted toes. She walked gingerly at first and then would stop at times and just stare down at her toes. Hysterical.

Hat heads

I tried to keep them wearing their hats while we were out in the sun. Charlotte was pretty good about keeping hers on. Better than Sarah who eventually decided, "Enough with hats!"
