Watch out! There's a ball pit in the house!

Yep, our girls have their very own ball pit. I have noticed that when Charlotte is in the ball pit at OT, it does *something* for her. She gets organized and her language seems to dramatically increase. We'd been trying to figure out how we'd do it at home and finally came up with idea of using the Pack N Play. Works great!!

Charlotte wasn't satisfied with just her and Sarah in it though. She had to have Mommy and Daddy get in too. I have to admit there is something peaceful about immersing yourself in 300 balls.

Random scenes around the house

My mom spent the night one night this week while Michael was out of town. A little slumber party with the girls we had. She brought her new digital camera. Here's a sampling of some of what she captured.

Yep, that's Sarah in the sink. With the water on. Can't take your eye off that girl for one second.

12 degrees!

Charlotte really loves the cold. Really. She eats popsicles in the dead of winter. She likes her waffles straight from the freezer, no toasting. And she regularly asks for frozen peas. Really. She even likes cold baths and showers.

She was really wanting to go out Sunday evening. It about 12 degrees and the wind chill was well below Zero. Out we went. Sarah HAD to go (there's no leaving that girl behind). She and I lasted less than 10 minutes. Michael and Charlotte stayed out about 20 minutes, although it felt like an eternity.

Fingerpainting Fun

Charlotte puts her whole self in to her artwork. This was her first time with fingerpaints. Usually we use a brush with paints.

Do you think she was having fun? Yeah, no doubt about it.

I may stick with the brush...

"Charlotte's a Giraffe"

I went outside my comfort zone yesterday and bought Charlotte this animal print fleece top. She's in need of warmer tops and it was on the extremely-picked-over clearance rack. Yesterday she pulled it out of the bag and started singing, "Charlotte's a giraffe, Charlotte's a giraffe," as she tried to put it on (over her Snow White dress). I guess they do kinda look like giraffe spots.

This morning I took her picture (I do think it looks pretty good on her) and after she was done saying "cheese" she said, "That was some good cheesin' Mommy."

Happy 40th!

Michael recently celebrated the big Four-Oh! He said all he wanted for his birthday was to be with his girls... so that's pretty much all he got. I also gave him some coupons (40!) to redeem and get out of (not) fun jobs like changing dirty diapers and mowing the lawn and scooping the cat litter.

Each of his parents took him out to eat and my Mom made him a birthday dinner. These pictures are from that day.

The letter A

Every now and then Charlotte gets it in her head to make her toys go swimming. And what better place to swim than the cat's water dish. His food and water is up on the buffet because Sarah has been seen shoveling handfuls of cat food in.

On this particular day, she wanted to make the Letter A swim. She was warned and warned that if she put "A" in the water dish, I was going to take it away from her.

She compromised.

At least she listens.

She keeps things interesting...

Sarah is a climber. This is how i have to keep the chairs in the kitchen. I don't want her falling off (anymore...) on to the hard tile floor.

If a chair is up when she comes in the kitchen, she gets this delightful little giggle and charges toward the chair. She's quick too.

It's not just the kitchen chairs that she likes to climb either. We've now had to turn the piano bench over too.

Sarah Style

Sarah has taken to wearing Charlotte's sunglasses around.

Copycats

What's new around here is Sarah likes to copy everything her big sister Charlotte does.

Copying on the swings ...

In the bathroom trying to get to the sink...

Speaking of Snow White....

Charlotte got a Snow White dress for Christmas. I love how she's modeling the dress while holding her own little Snow White.

She didn't like the feel of the dress on her skin, she left her shirt and pants on underneath. Finnicky finnicky!

She also wanted me to fix her hair in a "Snow White ponytail." Cuteness!!
