Sarah and I went to school with Charlotte this past week for her class Valentine's party. The party is just part of the regular day, no set time, so we just went in with Charlotte when class started and stayed the whole 2 1/2 hours. And let me just say that I hold preschool teachers in the highest regard. I was exhausted after my stint, and I wasn't even in charge. I was just there.

Sarah had a ball. She was so excited about getting to go school. For the most part she was pretty good. Except when she dumped conversation hearts on the floor, or when she dumped a jar of fuzzy balls everywhere, or when she poured a pitcher of water on the floor. Other than THAT she was an angel.

First, there was circle time:

During Circle Time they read a book about a mitten and the kids participated in the retelling. Sarah too!

She's so ready for school!!

Then there was some fun Valentine's-themed play activities. Here is Charlotte at the sensory table with Conversation Hearts.

Here's Sarah working on a heart-shaped Valentine. She was proud of this.

Charlotte's shirt, with the big shiny heart on it, was quite a hit with the other kids.

Sarah playing with the pretend Valentine's chocolate box.

Enjoying snack (just before the aforementioned water pouring).
